Let us introduce you Caval Olson-Lepage, Board Member! This is Caval’s third year with SYL, and we are so grateful to have her as part of our committee for this year. Let’s find out a bit more about Caval!
Tell us about you and your Credit Union journey. How did you get to where you are now?
I started in the CU system just under 17 years ago…when I was 19 ;). I actually took a part time role as a Teller while I was trying to get hired in a field related to my degree in Criminal Sociology. However, I loved it so much I never left and I am incredibly grateful for the education and career mentorship that I received over the years, as it enabled me to take on different roles, such as Account Manager, Investment Specialist, Financial Planner, Team Lead and now a Growth and Engagement Manager.
Why did you join SYL?
I have attended a number of SYL events over my tenure and I am very passionate about giving back. So when the opportunity to apply was put before me I knew I wanted to be able to help others in their Credit Union journey just like I was.
What are you most proud of so far in your SYL journey?
There are so many things to be proud of, such as putting on SYL’s first virtual retreat during covid, then our first retreat after covid…but I am most proud of being a part of SYL’s first Pride event. The LGTBQ+ community is so important and very dear to my heart. To be a part of that event was inspirational.
