Introducing one of our lovely Board Members Dajana Benic. Dajana is a Team Leader, Associate Business Advisors at Conexus Credit Union. She was chosen to spotlight this time because she is such a wonderful vibrant person. With such a contagious smile and great mind it is a joy to know her. This is Dajana’s second year with SYL and she is currently on the Awards sub-committee.
Now lets get to know a bit more about this lovely lady 🙂
Tell us about you and your Credit Union journey. How did you get to where you are now?
I NEVER thought I would last in the corporate FI world when I first applied for an FSR position. At the time I was managing a retail store and I loved getting the chance to be creative and put together outfits for the corporate women of downtown Regina . I absolutely did not see myself ever becoming ‘one of them’! Little did I know that I would fall in love with Financial Services and the ability to think differently and BE creative when it comes to building our members financial wellness. Conexus Credit Union has a strong focus on the learning an development of their employees and I have been fortunate enough to grow and develop through a number of different roles, however, my passion has always been people and the ability to help grow others is what brings my joy in my day to day life. I am currently a Manager, Financial Services in Regina’s West Landing Branch!
Why did you join SYL?
Again, my passion for developing those around me led me to apply to become a committee member on SYL. So far I’ve really enjoyed having the opportunity to connect with others across the province. It’s been a privilege to learn more about the CU system as a whole and take tidbits of inspiration and mentorship back with me.
What are you most excited about this year for SYL?
I am most proud of the relationships I’ve built and stepping outside of my comfort zone for the Awards banquet!! Let me tell you – I was not born for the red carpet haha!
