Let us introduce you this year’s Treasurer, Rebecca Eastwood! This is Rebecca’s first year with SYL, and we are so excited to have her as part of our committee for the next three years. Let’s find out a bit more about Rebecca!
Tell us about you and your Credit Union journey. How did you get to where you are now?
Credit Unions only became a part of my life when my husband and I moved to Saskatchewan almost 10 years ago. When we moved to Leader, the members of the community could not stop bragging about how amazing the credit union was and how helpful and understanding they were. I got to experience this when my vehicle broke 2 weeks into living here. The loans officer I dealt with didn’t know me at all, and without question gave us a loan to purchase a vehicle. We wouldn’t be where we are today without the generosity of Sandhills Credit Union. I began my credit union journey back in January of 2015. I started at Sandhills Credit Union as an Administration and Compliance Clerk. In February of 2016 I became the Administration and Compliance Officer. And as of Oct 24, 2022, I am the Manager of Administration, Compliance and Risk.
Why did you join SYL?
Retreat! It changed me as a person. The information I took away has helped shape the manager I am today!
What are you most proud of so far in your SYL journey?
I am proud to just be a part of an incredible committee!
